3. Colby Barlow

The Chicago Blackhawks could use a stud like Colby Barlow in the draft.

Another solid option for the Chicago Blackhawks in this draft with pick 19 is Colby Barlow. He is a winger that might be able to become a great power forward in the NHL.

With Connor Bedard coming in a bit undersized (literally the only knock on him), Barlow could be a guy that helps out with that. He isn’t overwhelmingly big but he has some nice size that should be a factor in the National Hockey League.

He spent the 2022-23 season as a member of the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL where he was the captain. There, he scored 46 goals and had 33 assists for 79 points in 59 games played.

Obviously, the assist numbers are down but the kid can clearly put the puck in the net a fair amount of the time.

Can he drive offense in the NHL? That might not be the case but other elite playmakers (like Connor Bedard or Lukas Reichel) could find him in good scoring areas.

This is a very intriguing pick for the Chicago Blackhawks as it can really make a big impact on the team for a long time. It isn’t necessarily a “must hit” pick but doing so could lead to championship-level success if the other prospects they have also pan out.
