2. Gabe Perreault

The Chicago Blackhawks could make Gabe Perreault their 19th pick in 2023.

The Chicago Blackhawks are lucky to have a second first-round pick in this potentially generational draft. Of course, that first overall pick is amazing but this next pick could give Connor Bedard another great player to play with.

Gabe Perreault is a great idea for this spot. He is from the United States Development Program which has been pumping out NHL players for years now at a high rate. He is committed to Boston College for the 2023-24 season.

If Chicago selected him, we’d get to see him likely play in the World Juniors while also seeing him play for a very good NCAA program in BC.

He’s on the smaller side but he has an offensive edge to his game that should translate well to the NHL. If he got to develop and eventually play with Bedard, the sky is the limit.

Having 132 points in 63 games with the Development Program is no joke. He led that team in scoring. There will be other players from this squad drafted and Perrault is either the best or second-best among their forwards. He’d be a home run pick.
