The Chicago Blackhawks should consider all of their options when it comes to the 2023 NHL Draft. That applies to every round including the first.

We know that they are going to make Connor Bedard the first overall pick. That much is so clear. Beyond him though, this is a chance to get multiple impact players.

They have the 19th overall pick of the first round as well as they acquired it from the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Brandon Hagel Trade.

This is a huge deal for Chicago because they can use this pick in a deep draft to get another very good player.

Plenty of great options are going to be available with this selection so the Hawks need to take advantage. If they want to go the route of a forward to possibly complement Bedard, these three options might work best:

1. Gavin Brindley

Gavin Brindley would be a perfect selection for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Gavin Brindley would be a great option for the Chicago Blackhawks with the 19th overall pick in the draft. He is a forward that plays his college hockey at the University of Michigan. He will be going back there in 2023-24 after a great season with them this year.

Michigan found itself in the Frozen Four because of their depth and Brindley was a big part of it. Of course, stars like Adam Fantilli and Luke Hughes led the way but Brindley had 12 goals and 26 assists for 38 points in 41 games.

He also played in the World Junior Championships. He had one goal and three assists for four points in seven games playing as a depth winger. That isn’t bad at all for being one of the younger players on the team.

He isn’t quite Fantilli so another season in NCAA hockey will be great for him. Once he comes to the NHL he should be ready to hop right into someone’s top-six.

The Blackhawks would be an even better organization if they landed him. He will be on everyone’s must-watch list next year when it comes to college hockey.
