Chicago Bears: OTA video of Justin Fields and his receivers is beautiful
By Ryan Heckman
A Justin Fields breakout season is currently loading. No, last year wasn’t the true breakout for the Chicago Bears quarterback.
It was a fun ride, but the 2023 campaign is going to be that year for Fields.
A much-improved roster is a big reason why, and that includes both the offensive line and weapons at Fields’ disposal. Adding help up front with the big guys is going to allow Fields less pressure and more time, which in turn should equal good things overall.
But, the Bears also added a huge weapon in D.J. Moore this offseason. Moore joins Darnell Mooney and Chase Claypool, giving the Bears a legitimate trio of wideouts who bring different strengths to the table.
As OTAs have gotten underway, Fields and several of his new teammates, along with the ones who have been here prior to this season, are going to work.
Wednesday, the official Bears Twitter account posted a short video of throws from Fields to both Claypool and Moore, and boy, it left fans longing for more.

Justin Fields could be in for a historic year with the Chicago Bears, thanks to his wide receivers
No quarterback in Bears franchise history has ever thrown for 4,000 yards in a season. Now, last year wasn’t exactly an inspiration to say that Fields will do just that in his third season as a pro. However, it isn’t out of the question.
Last season, Fields’ offensive line was much worse. He didn’t have Darnell Mooney for the entire season. Chase Claypool was acquired halfway through the season and didn’t have much time to absorb himself into the offense and playbook.
Now, with a full offseason of work ahead of him and his teammates, an improved offensive line and his second season in Luke Getsy’s scheme, who is to say he couldn’t make franchise history?
Moore has had three seasons of 1,000 receiving yards in five years.
Mooney has had a 1,000-yard season already with the Bears, despite their low passing volume and ineptitude, offensively.
In Claypool’s first two seasons with Pittsburgh, he posted over 860 receiving yards.
Cole Kmet became a bigger part of the offense last year, especially in the red zone. Now, Fields has both Kmet and Robert Tony to look for in those situations, making goal line situations a lot more juicy.
The Bears will continue to run the ball well, keeping defenses honest. But, it’s about time Fields takes the league by storm with his arm, too.
