Candidates to be Chicago Bears third QB on the roster: Tyson Bagent

One guy that no one is talking about, currently, former Shepherd quarterback Tyson Bagent. As an undrafted free agent this year, the Bears were lucky enough to sign him.

Haven’t heard of Bagent? Not many have, but he’s worth mentioning. Believe it or not, Bagent was the number one undrafted free agent quarterback available after the draft, per NFL Media. That certainly counts for something.

Not to mention, Bagent was also a 2023 NFL Combine participant. That means, the league thought he was definitely good enough to be drafted, and he was given a chance to showcase his skills in front of the football world.

Bagent has great size, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 213 pounds. He does possess good quickness and can evade the pocket and take off, which is something that more and more pro quarterbacks are going to need as the league continues to evolve.

Bagent might be number four on the depth chart right now, but don’t count him out of any potential race for the third spot. He’s worth watching over the next couple of months.
