The Chicago Blackhawks will have the top farm very soon

The Chicago Blackhawks have turned things around very quickly since firing Stan Bowman early in the 2021 season. It is a shame that he was fired for non-hockey-related stuff because he would likely still be there if he wasn’t.

Kyle Davidson is the man in charge now and he has been doing things the right way. Most people agree that coming into the 2023 calendar year, the Chicago Blackhawks have (at a minimum) a top-ten prospect farm.

With the way that Kevin Korchinski, Lukas Reichel, Frank Nazar, Drew Commesso, and Ethan del Mastro amongst others have progressed this year, the future is very bright.

Then they won the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery. Connor Bedard is going to join this farm system and he is the number one prospect in the world.

The Chicago Blackhawks will have the number one farm system very soon.

In addition to Bedard, the Hawks have another first-round pick (19th overall) and four second-round picks coming. It is unclear which of those selections they will use (if not all of them) but some amazing talent is being brought in along with Connor Bedard.

Once the 2023 NHL Draft is complete, it is fair to believe that the Hawks will have the best farm system in the NHL.

Teams like the New Jersey Devils, Minnesota Wild, Anaheim Ducks, and Ottawa Senators amongst others might take a step back as prospects graduate to the NHL and the Hawks are coming up. The top spot will be theirs.

Connor Bedard alone might make them the top squad but the fact that other high-level prospects are there as well makes it even better. It is exciting to be a Blackhawks fan right now because they are building this thing the right way.

Building it this way might mean that sustained success is coming up. Having the number one farm is going to be something that might make free agents want to come to play in Chicago.

Why wouldn’t Auston Matthews or Leon Draisaitl at least consider coming to town after the next season is over? The potential of this group is as good as it has been in a long time in terms of the farm system. It is only going to get better as the next month or two unfolds.
