Veteran pass rushers the Chicago Bears can still sign: Yannick Ngakoue
Lastly, we come to a guy that a lot of Bears fans would love to have. Speaking of guys you thought were around a lot longer, Yannick Ngakoue is only 28 years old (as of March) and is one of the most consistent pass rushers you’ll find across this league.
Yet, somehow, he’s played for a whopping four teams in the last three years. Starting his career with four very good seasons in Jacksonville, Ngakoue has bounced around constantly since 2020. But, with a good amount of years left on the field, he could very well find a long-term home with the Bears.
Chicago could use a veteran, but Ngakoue is a veteran that might also be around for a while. And, at this point in the offseason, the Bears could get him on a long-term deal but without overpaying.
Since entering the NFL in 2016, Ngakoue has never finished a season with under 8.0 sacks. He’s hit the double-digit mark twice in his career, but surprisingly has been very predictable in the amount of sacks he’ll end up with every year.
Again, the word with Ngakoue is consistency. You know you’re going to get a good amount of sacks out of him over the course of a season, and the Bears could use that.
