Chicago Bulls Rumors: 3 splash trades to acquire Damian Lillard
By Ryan Heckman
Trade Number 1: A very mild offer from the Chicago Bulls for Damian Lillard
This first trade package is, by far, the most mild of all three. There are going to be better offers out there, but just for the sake of putting together a few scenarios and showing fans what exactly the Bulls could offer, here’s the first example.
This first deal would see the Bulls move their best, young asset in forward Patrick Williams. After three years, it feels like we’re still waiting to see what Williams can truly do and whether he will reach his full potential. That’s where the Bulls start this deal out.
Secondly, the Bulls would execute a sign-and-trade involving Coby White, whom they won’t be able to retain if they made a move like trading for Lillard. White is still just 23 years old and is becoming a legitimate two-way player for the Bulls, and a valuable part of their bench.
The Bulls would also trade last year’s first-round pick, point guard Dalen Terry. So, the Blazers would be getting two young guards and a young forward. Plus, the Bulls trade the only two first-round picks they can trade right now, with those coming in 2027 and 2029. All in all, this is not a deal that could get it done.
But, it’s a starting point and it goes to show what the Bulls could part with to begin.
