The Chicago White Sox need to make a move that betters the clubhouse.

Elvis Andrus was added late in the 2022 season and gave the lineup a jolt. The Chicago White Sox got themselves briefly back into the AL Central race. It was not a major move but sometimes adding a veteran can energize a clubhouse.

An early-season trade for a contributor-level player can help turn around a season. The Milwaukee Brewers were struggling in mid-May 2021 when they acquired Willy Adames from the Tampa Bay Rays

Turns out all he needed was a better ballpark to hit in regularly. His presence re-energized the Brewers and they went on to win the NL Central.

Maybe the White Sox could call the Rays to see if they would be interested in trading Brandon Lowe. He is struggling this year but he hits left-handed and plays second base.

The Rays need bullpen help and while the Sox relievers are struggling, Tampa tends to overlook current results if the pitcher has velocity. The Rays believe their pitch lab can fix a pitcher.

Lowe might benefit from hitting in a ballpark that is not so dark like Tropicana Field. It would be highly unlikely the Rays would make such a move but then again, Tampa is always willing to move a player since it seems like they have a prospect waiting in the wings.

A minor move sometimes has a major effect on the team. The key is to find a player with the right attitude and who can still produce. That is why this would be tough for general manager Rick Hahn to pull this off because there are not a lot of these players available. It still cannot hurt to try.
