Chicago Bears: 3 unfair expectations for Justin Fields in 2023

Unfair expectation for Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields: Become first 4,000-yard passer in franchise history
The stage is set for a Fields breakout. We know that. Going out and getting him a true alpha wide receiver in Moore, the Bears began an offseason that will go down as a crucial time period for Fields’ development. Again, the improved offensive line will help in all aspects.
But, to expect Fields to throw for 4,000 yards and become the first quarterback in Bears history to do so is a little out of reach for a third-year quarterback that likes to use his legs, too. Looking at one of the most often-used comparisons as of late, Jalen Hurts, we can almost assume Fields will not his that number.
Fair expectation for Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields: Throw for 3,500 yards
Last year, the season which saw Hurts get paid, we witnessed a season where the Eagles quarterback threw for 3,701 yards while rushing for 760, giving him a total of 4,461 yards from scrimmage.
A realistic expectation would be for Fields to throw for 3,500 yards this coming season, which would average out to be 206 per game. Again, that doesn’t seem like much. But, this offense is going to be far more balanced than it was a season ago.
