Trade Number 3: The Chicago Bulls trade DeMar DeRozan to the Knicks

Lastly, the Bulls might end up moving on from DeMar DeRozan if they don’t extend him (which should be a priority, as well).

First, before we get into the trade a little further, let’s just get this out there: this deal assumes the Bulls can come to some type of medical exception with Lonzo Ball in order to get his salary off the books. If they can do so, then a trade like this would work, financially.

In this trade, the Knicks get DeRozan to pair with Randle, Brunson and company. But, the Bulls get quite the haul.

Chicago ends up with Barrett once again, but also gets the young, athletic forward, Obi Toppin. With a front court featuring Toppin and Patrick Williams, the Bulls have a pair of youthful guys who offer a couple of unique skillsets and would feed well off each other.

Of course, the two first-round picks are the big part of this deal, and in the end, the Knicks would probably end up extending DeRozan if they gave up this much in a deal to acquire him.
