EA Sports NHL makes a wild prediction about Connor Bedard
The Chicago Blackhawks won the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery on Monday night. It was a fantastic moment for the franchise as they will be making the first overall selection for the first time since 2007 when they took Patrick Kane.
Kane went on to have an amazing career that included championships, a scoring title, and a Hart Trophy as the league MVP amongst many other things.
Now, the Hawks will hope that Connor Bedard has a similar career as he is set to be the first overall pick by Chicago when they come up to the stage in Nashville later this summer.
EA Sports NHL is a popular hockey video game that many fans play. Well, they simulated Connor Bedard’s career and shared their results on social media on Wednesday.
The Chicago Blackhawks are getting a superstar in Connor Bedard.
Basically, they predict that he is going to have one of the greatest careers in the history of the National Hockey League. They have him winning the Calder Trophy as the Rookie of the Year in 2023-24 followed by four Hart Trophies as league MVP, four Ted Lindsay Awards which go to the player voted most outstanding by his peers, and two Rocket Richard trophies which go to the league’s leading goal scorer.
What might be most exciting for Blackhawks fans is the prediction that he will be a three-time Stanley Cup champion. They project that he will play in 1455 games scoring 739 goals with 1145 assists for 1884 points. Only Wayne Gretzky, Jaromir Jagr, and Mark Messier have more. Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid will probably end right around there as well.
If these projections turn out to become true (or close to it), Connor Bedard will go to the Hall of Fame, have his number retired, and possibly even be a statue guy. Those would be some of the most incredible statistics that this league has ever seen and it would come in a Chicago Blackhawks uniform.
It is a lot of pressure for someone that hasn’t even technically been drafted yet but we all know how talented he is. It wouldn’t shock anyone if he does go on to become this all-time Blackhawks great. Hopefully, EA Sports NHL is on to something.
