It is pretty wild how stark of a difference there is between the outlook of these Chicago Bears and the team they were a year ago.

General manager Ryan Poles has done a total reworking of this roster, and the future suddenly looks very bright.

Count former veteran quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky as one who is believing the hype surrounding these Bears, and particularly quarterback Justin Fields.

Orlovsky went on ESPN’s Get Up! just a couple of days ago and gave us three reasons why he not only believes in Fields, but believes the third-year quarterback will be in the MVP conversation this coming season.

Reasons Dan Orlovsky thinks Justin Fields can win MVP: Offensive line now a potential strength

“Number one, this offensive line has gone from weakness to potential strength,” Orlovsky said. “The addition of (offensive tackle) Darnell Wright. Nate Davis they brought over in free agency. Now Teven Jenkins kicks inside.”

The way this offensive line looks now is much different than a year ago, and two players in particular are the reason why: Davis and Wright. Not to mention, it could get even better if the Bears continued to bolster their depth.

We’re not even sure that Jenkins will start over Cody Whitehair or Lucas Patrick, but that’s certainly a possibility if someone like Whitehair is cut or traded.

Ridding themselves of Sam Mustipher was definitely the right call, and upgrading the right tackle position was also a big move for the Bears. Fields should not be running for his life as much, anymore, due to the improvement up front and due to the nature of Orlovsky’s next point.
