The Chicago Blackhawks had a terrible season. They were one of the worst teams in the NHL all year long. They also didn’t tank right at the end of the year which only gave them the third-best odds of winning the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery.

Of course, that doesn’t mean it is impossible. They did end up winning the lottery which is going to change their franchise for a very long time. They didn’t have to go very long without a superstar as Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are gone.

Connor Bedard is going to play for the Chicago Blackhawks which is the most wonderful thing that could have happened to them. He is the type of forward that changes the dynamic of everything about an NHL team.

Bedard is so good for a variety of reasons. He skates incredibly well, he shoots the puck just as good (if not better) than Auston Matthews, and he has incredible playmaking ability. He will make an immediate impact at even strength and on the power play.

The Chicago Blackhawks will have Connor Bedard on their team soon.

There are a lot of ways that they can build around him now. They can keep on the course of the rebuild but it might be easier to move along quicker now that they will have a franchise player like this there.

Guys like Kevin Korchinski, Ethan del Mastro, Lukas Reichel, and Frank Nazar all just became much better prospects on this day. Connor Bedard will be the next leader of this group for a very long time. It is one of the most fortunate things to ever happen to the Chicago Blackhawks.

They were at rock bottom at the time of Stan Bowman’s departure. Since then, Kyle Davidson has done a great job preparing for a lucky moment like this. It was all going according to plan anyone but inserting Bedard makes it even better.

This is also the type of luck that can lure in top free agents in the coming years. You might remember a guy named Marian Hossa wanting to come to Chicago’s young and exciting team all those years ago. Well, something similar could happen again.

Chicago fans will certainly celebrate this one for a while. There is a lot of work to be done but this is certainly an amazing step toward bringing glory back to the United Center.
