The Chicago Bears made some noise during Thursday’s first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. They traded back to pick 10 from 9 and let the Philadelphia Eagles select Jalen Carter. Obviously, some people might disagree with that but it could end up working out in their favor.

There are a lot more picks to be made, however, as the second and third rounds will take place on Friday night. During the second round, the NFL announced that certain franchise legends are going to be making the selections.

For the Bears, one of the all-time greats is going to make the pick. Devin Hester is going to be the guy for the Chicago Bears which will certainly excite a lot of people. He is one of the greatest players of all time for the things that he did.

Hester, as you know, is known for being the greatest return man in NFL history. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame which is an entirely different story. He wasn’t the best wide receiver or cornerback but he was serviceable at those positions.

The Chicago Bears had some truly amazing moments with Devin Hester.

His greatest moment was returning the opening kickoff of Super Bowl XLI. Unfortunately, the Bears ended up losing that game to the Indianapolis Colts. Now, all these years later, he is going to be announcing their second-round pick.

Hester knows what it is like to be a second-round pick. The Bears made him one (57th overall) in 2006 out of Miami.

He went on to have an outstanding career and the first eight of them were spent with the Bears. He then went on to have a cup of coffee with the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, and Seattle Seahawks to end his career.

We can only hope that whoever Hester announces is someone that helps them start winning again. It is on Ryan Poles and his staff to make sure they do their homework on their picks.

Seeing the NFL do things like this is outstanding for fans. Everyone is going to have very fond memories of Hester forever so it is cool to see him still involved with the organization.
