Day 2 prospects who could fall to the Chicago Bears in 2023 NFL Draft: Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA

The Bears don’t necessarily need a running back, however if the value is there, then they should absolutely take Zach Charbonnet. Should he be sitting there at pick 61, Chicago should entertain drafting the UCLA running back.

Signing D’Onta Foreman to a 1-year deal, the Bears essentially gave themselves a 12-month filler next to Khalil Herbert. By no means is Foreman the future. In fact, I would venture to guess Herbert is still “the guy.”

If Chicago wanted to gain depth and find someone who could become part of that two-headed monster next year, alongside Herbert, Charbonnet would be a phenomenal pick. He could even take over as the starter, eventually, should the Bears not want to pay Herbert.

Charbonnet is a bigger back that runs well between the tackles. He’s patient. He’s powerful. If Bears fans loved David Montgomery (which they did), they will love Charbonnet. He’s a similar type of player, and even if the team extends Herbert, Charbonnet would fit very well next to him going forward.
