With the draft finally here, the Chicago Bears are coming into it with a lot of needs on the roster. Spin the wheel and you can make a case for that position no matter what it lands on.

At offensive tackle, the Bears do not have a confident answer on the roster and who knows if Braxton Jones will take the next step at that position. On the defensive line, there is not a soul on that line that you would describe as a game-breaker.

The Chicago Bears currently do not have an explosive playmaker on the offensive side of the ball outside of Justin Fields.

The running back depth chart is solid. Khalil Herbert proved last year that he could be the lead back in offensive coordinator Luke Getsy’s system.

If not for injury, he could have broken 1,000 yards. D’Onta Foreman flirted with 1000 yards last season for the Carolina Panthers, showing that he could also be a lead back for a team as well.

Herbert and Foreman could be a decent one-two punch but neither guy has close to the game-breaking talent of a Bijan Robinson.

The Chicago Bears may want to consider drafting Bijan Robinson this year.

There is debate amongst the NFL community on where Robinson will land during Thursday’s draft. Some draft publications have Robinson as the best prospect in this draft and have him going in the top ten.

However, others might also have him pegged as one of the best but can not justify selecting a running back in the top 10.

We know the popular saying that you do not draft them in the first round and you most certainly do not in the top 10.

Robinson, however, belongs in the tier of generational talents that also was drafted in the top 10 in recent memory. He is also not a guy that you just hold as just a running back. He is a complete offensive weapon that you must account for all over the field.

The addition of Robinson has enormous potential to put this offense over the edge. You have an ascending young QB in Fields who many believe will make that leap in his third year.

The wide receiver room has a makeover led by a proven number-one in DJ Moore. They also have solid tight-end depth with Cole Kmet and Robert Tonyan. They also have a promising offensive line on paper if they can add a quality tackle and center.

Do the Bears have other pressing needs that are a high priority? They do. You can make a solid case for any type of defensive line help. You can also say they are another offensive tackle away from being an above-average offensive line group.

However, we cannot pound the table for explosive playmakers when watching Bears games only to have the opportunity for one in Robinson and let it slip away.
