Devon Witherspoon is not someone that the Chicago Bears need right now.

The Chicago Bears do not need to draft someone like Devon Witherspoon in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. There are plenty of other good players in the first round for them to consider this year.

Although it would be very cool to see the Chicago Bears select a player from the University of Illinois with their ninth pick, they should really stay away. This isn’t because of his ability to play, it is just about what position he plays. That applies to all three of these guys.

In fact, Robinson, Smith-Njigba, and Witherspoon might end up all being elite. However, the Bears need to find an elite player that plays a position they need more.

In the case of Witherspoon, they might not need quite as much help at corner as they do elsewhere. The offensive and defensive line is much more of a need for them.

At the end of the day, all that matters is that the Chicago Bears have a good draft and brighten up their future. We can only hope that this ninth pick really helps.
