Trade Two

The Chicago Cubs may be able to get Shohei Ohtani for a bunch of youngsters.

The only one going back to the Angels in this scenario that is on the MLB roster to stay is Hayden Wesneski. He came to the Chicago Cubs in a 2022 trade with the New York Yankees for Zach Effross and has had some ups and downs so far.

Kevin Alcantara, Jordan Wicks, and Ben Brown are all also top-ten Cubs prospects that are hoping to make an impact on the league one day.

If the Angels are going to trade Ohtani, they are going to want to start a rebuild which includes getting lots of young players just like this.

With the fact that everybody knows that they want to trade him, they might not have the leverage that they think they do so it might not cost all that much. Alcantara is Chicago’s number two prospect so it isn’t like they’d be getting nothing in this deal either.
