Round Two

The Chicago Bears have two selections in the second round of the draft.

843. . CB. Utes . Clark Phillips III. 53. player

Pick 53 originally belonged to the Baltimore Ravens. Now, it belongs to the Chicago Bears. With it here, they take Clark Phillips III out of Utah where he had an outstanding collegiate career.

The Chicago Bears could clearly use some help in their secondary (although they could use some help all over the place). Phillips III might be able to join the team and play well for them right away.

If that were to happen, there is a good chance that they have him be a part of the core for a long time. That is what you go for in the NFL Draft after all.

61. player. 815. . WR. Sooners . Marvin Mims

The Chicago Bears may want to take at least one wide receiver in this draft. They’d like to see DJ Moore, Darnell Mooney, and Chase Claypool form a good big three with guys like Velus Jones Jr, Equanimeous St. Brown, and Dante Pettis backing them up but they could use more.

Drafting Marvin Mims from Oklahoma might be a great idea late in the second round if he is still sitting there. We don’t know what becomes of that wide receiver group in the long term so they might as well draft a decent one as well. Mims could be great in the NFL.
