Centers the Chicago Bulls should sign to replace Nikola Vucevic: Jaxson Hayes

Lastly, the Bulls could look at completely reshaping their front court by letting go of Vucevic as well as Andre Drummond. If they’re going to totally rebuild, then they’ll need a couple of big men to bring in.

Signing current Pelicans center Jaxson Hayes as a reserve could be one very underrated move. Heck, throwing him into the starting lineup might not even be a bad idea. Hayes would come cheap and, as a true center with a paint mindset, could be a nice change of pace for the team.

Hayes is no where near a threat from beyond the arc, but more so someone who is going to man the boards and plays with a defense-first mentality.

Last year, on a per-36-minute basis, Hayes posted 13.8 points, 7.8 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.

This is likely the cheapest option of the three for Chicago, allowing them to go after another center to possibly start ahead of Hayes. But, like Wagner, Hayes plays with an energy and excitement that this Bulls team has been missing. The youth, energy and defense he provides would be a big lift off the bench, or even within the starting lineup if Chicago took that risk.
