Centers the Chicago Bulls should sign to replace Nikola Vucevic: Moritz Wagner

Another great option for the Bulls to look at in free agency is 25-year-old Mo Wagner. Originally selected no. 25 overall back in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, Wagner bounced around a bit to start his young career.

He went from Los Angeles to Washington, and then to Boston for a bit. Two years ago, Wagner signed a 2-year deal to remain with the Magic, and that contract paid him just $3.6 million in total.

It is safe to say he’ll be earning more than that on his next deal.

Last year, on a per-36-minute basis, Wagner posted averages of: 19.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals. He also shot the ball at an even 50 percent from the field, even occasionally knocking down the three ball, shooting over 31 percent from beyond the arc.

Wagner is one of those players with an attitude the Bulls had been missing prior to the deal for Patrick Beverley last year. His demeanor and play style is energetic and aggressive, which Bulls fans haven’t seen out of any of their players for a while, other than Beverley.

If Chicago can save a little money letting Vucevic walk, and bring in Wagner to take his place, that would be a solid plan going forward, especially because Wagner is so young.
