The Chicago Bears had some really good times with their now-former wide receiver Allen Robinson. His problem in Chicago was that he always just had terrible quarterbacks throwing him the football. That kept him from reaching his true potential in town.

Following his tenure with the Bears, he made his way over to the Los Angeles Rams where things didn’t really work out for him there.

Matthew Stafford was injured for most of his time there so it isn’t like his quarterback luck improved upon his arrival there.

Now, he is headed to another football home as he was just traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a deal that involved a couple of late-round picks.

Former Chicago Bears superstar Allen Robinson is on the move again.

The Rams gave up Robinson to move up 17 slots in the seventh round which tells you just what his worth is in today’s NFL. They are also retaining 10.5 million of his salary while the Steelers will grab the rest of the deal (five million).

This isn’t a blockbuster by any means but the Steelers are getting a receiver that is trying to revive his career so they will see if they can help him. As they go through a retool of sorts, this might be a move that helps them but they didn’t risk too much by taking him.

The Rams have had a Super Bowl win in recent memory (2021) so they aren’t going to be shamed too much for the moves that they made but it is time for them to restart. They went all in on winning over the last few years and not every move worked out.

As for the Steelers, it will be interesting to see how Robinson fits in with that group. They are trying to develop this young quarterback so bringing in this wide receiver seems like an interesting move.

No matter what, people in Chicago are going to remember Allen Robinson as a “what could have been”.

He was a part of the Matt Nagy era that will never be remembered with fondness but it is always fun to think about how good they could have been if just a few decisions were made differently. Hopefully, he finds some success with this new chapter.
