3 former Bears players we’ll be glad are gone and 2 we’ll wish stayed
Player 3 we are happy to see gone – Trevor Siemian
It is nice to know that Justin Fields may have a better backup in 2023.
The Chicago Bears are expected to have Justin Fields under center for most of the next decade. They need him to pan out if they are going to rebuild this thing the right way.
He showed signs of success during the 2022 season so we have to hope that continues this year. With more weapons, another year in the system, and better protection, he should be able to succeed in his development.
Having that weird battle with Andy Dalton in his rookie season was weird and something that was clearly not good for anyone.
Trevor Siemian was his backup in 2022 though and we are going to be happy to see him gone. The Bears don’t need a guy competing with Justin Fields but it would be nice to have a competent backup and Siemian really isn’t that.
With Fields’ style of play, it is fair to assume that he will be banged up from time to time causing a backup to play. Hopefully, they end up with someone that provides much more stability to the backup position than Siemian.
