3. Boston Bruins

There is a world where the Boston Bruins need a player like Jonathan Toews.

The Chicago Blackhawks have had some fun battles with the Boston Bruins over the career of Jonathan Toews despite being in different conferences. A lot of it is because of the fact that the two teams met in the 2013 Stanley Cup Final and in the 2019 NHL Winter Classic.

Why would the Boston Bruins want Jonathan Toews though? They have Patrice Bergeron who has been the only better two-way center over the last 20 years. Well, Bergeron very well could hang them up. So could David Krejci who is their second-line center.

If one or both of them retire, that potentially leaves Charlie Coyle (if it is both) as the best center on the roster. Coyle is great but they need more help down the middle if they are going to try and have half as good of a season as they currently are.

The Bruins would love to add a center like Toews for a season if they are scrambling for depth down the middle.

He’d get to play with some sweet wingers like Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak, Pavel Zacha, Taylor Hall, or Jake DeBrusk amongst a few others so it would be something worth considering for him and his family if he wants to hit the east coast.

Toews still has a lot in the tank and hockey fans deserve to see him keep playing if he wants to and if he feels his body can take it.
