2. Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets would make perfect sense for Jonathan Toews right now.

Every now and again, you see players across different sports spend a portion of their career with the team that they grew up cheering for. Well, Jonathan Toews is from Winnipeg, Manitoba so it would be cool to see him play for the team that is from his hometown.

The Jets are a playoff team in 2022-23 but they tried everything in their power not to be by the end of the year. At the All-Star break, we saw them as a legit Stanley Cup threat but since then they have fallen off a cliff and will play as the bottom-seeded Western Conference team now.

Coming into next year, they are going to be a team trying to win again while they have some great veterans in their prime. Adding someone like Jonathan Toews to be a high-end third-line center would be nice especially since he will be motivated to have a good year in his hometown.

With a goaltender like Connor Hellebyuck in the net, it is likely that adding a leader like Toews will keep them relevant for another year. They aren’t a young team so if Toews doesn’t retire you’d like to think they pursue him while their window stays open for just a tad bit longer.
