Chicago Bears Mock Draft: They finally build long-term success
Round Two is going to be loaded for the Chicago Bears in 2023.
Round Two
The Chicago Bears could use some help at pretty much every spot on the field. Somewhere where help is certainly needed a bit extra is on the defense. They could use some upgrades pretty much everywhere but the defensive backfield is somewhere that they will look to target.
Clark Phillips III out of Utah plays cornerback and he will be around in the second round where the Bears could use him. This 53rd overall pick belonged to the Baltimore Ravens but the Bears can use it to their advantage now that it is theirs.
Phillips III had six interceptions for the Utah Utes in 2022 and was really good at every element (playmaking and tackling) of being a cornerback. He will be a good NFL player.
The Chicago Bears have literally never been fully set at wide receiver so thinking that they are now would be foolish. They have DJ Moore coming in from the first-pick trade to join Darnell Mooney and Chase Claypool but it can’t be assumed that it is good enough for Justin Fields’s huddle.
Marvin Mims out of Oklahoma is someone that they could consider with pick 61 that originally belonged to the San Francisco 49ers. Claypool might have the inside track on being the WR3 at this point but Mims could make it difficult on him which is good for the Bears.
Having four good receivers heading into camp would be something that hasn’t happened in a really long time if ever.
