Chicago Bears Mock Draft: They finally build long-term success
The Chicago Bears have been one of the most overrated National Football League teams for a long time. Yes, it is awesome that they are one of the original teams but they haven’t done much winning to make anyone too proud of them.
Now, after the happenings of the off-season, they need to go out there and prove that turning this thing around is their top priority. Getting a new stadium is nice and all but it would be better if they started to make runs at Super Bowls while playing in that new stadium.
Having some success in the 2023 NFL Draft is a good way to get this team going in the right direction even more. It isn’t going to be easy but they have the assets needed to make meaningful changes through the draft.
Round One
If their real draft looked like this mock draft, they would finally start to build long-term success:
The Chicago Bears could use a lot of help on the offensive line right away.
Justin Fields did a lot of running in 2022. A lot of it was by design because he is amazing at that part of the game. However, a lot of it was also out of necessity because the offensive line was absolutely horrible. That is something that needs to improve.
The Bears probably plan to have a much better passing attack in 2023 now that they have some quality receivers around Justin Fields to start camp for the first time in his career. If they want him to be effective in that area, he needs to have some time to throw it to them.
Paris Johnson Jr. out of Ohio State is a great player for them to consider. Fields and Johnson Jr. also have the same NCAA school that they played at so they will have some chemistry right away. It is just a perfect idea for the Chicago Bears to consider with this pick.
