Day 2 defensive tackle options for the Chicago Bears in 2023 NFL Draft: Keeanu Benton

At 6’4” 309 pounds, Benton is explosive off the line and causes a lot of havoc. He’s racked up a good amount of experience in college, as he started in all four of his years at Wisconsin. Benton offers a solid pass rushing presence from the interior. He does a good job pushing opposing lineman back to the quarterback and making them uncomfortable. In his final two seasons with the Badgers, he finished with a total of 7 sacks.

Benton is also an effective run stopper. He put up a career high 36 tackles for the Badgers in 2022. He’s very quick which allows him to meet running backs in the gap. He would come in right away and make an impact up front.

There’s a good chance that Benton will be available at any of the Bears Day two selections. NFL Draft analyst Matt Miller projects Benton will go 55th overall to the Lions, which is right in the Bears range of day two picks.

I love this fit for the Bears. Benton is great at both rushing the passer and stopping the run. Another intriguing option that could play a big role in the defense down the road.
