The Chicago Bears, as you know by now, have traded the number one overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for an absolute haul that includes the number nine pick in the draft. There are going to be a lot of very good players to consider at nine.

However, there might be one player worth trading up again for. This guy might fall to them at nine depending on how the teams ahead of them draft. If they think he goes a couple of picks ahead of nine, they should move up.

That player is Tyree Wilson. He is an edge rusher that is going to be selected in the top ten of the first round in the 2023 NFL Draft. He might be at the higher end of the top ten though which is why the Bears might need to move up a few spots. He played college football at Texas Tech.

What would it take to move up a few spots? Well, pick nine would go for the new first-round pick but the Bears would probably have to throw in two picks later in the draft. They have plenty of them to spare right now if they believe Wilson is worth it.

The Chicago Bears could use a player like Tyree Wilson going forward.

Based on how he played at Texas Tech and all of the physical tools that he brings, he just might be worth it. He had 7.0 sacks in both 2021 and 2022 but he had a significant increase in tackles over the two years as he had 38 in 2021 and 61 in 2022.

There were also three fewer games played in 2022 which means he was doing more with less time playing. There is no doubt that he is going to make an impact in the NFL if he goes to the right team who will develop him well.

The Bears could use some help on the edge. They moved on from all of their great pass rushers over the last year and now it is time to start getting better in that area again. Tyree Wilson fits that bill.

It isn’t likely that the Bears would do something like this but it would sure be cool to see as they need as many good players for the future as they can get. Sometimes, things are worth the risk.
