Be honest: How many of you turned off your televisions in disgust in the second quarter? At one point down by 23 points, the Chicago Bulls were getting demolished by Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies in Chicago on Sunday afternoon.

That’s when Zach LaVine and the Bulls flipped the switch, absolutely dominating the Grizzlies 90-46 over the rest of the game in historic fashion to complete the Bulls’ largest comeback victory of the 2022-23 NBA regular season.

I do not use the word historic lightly. The Bulls became the second team in NBA history to have one turnover during an entire game, providing a truly tantalizing look at the potential this team has.

The Grizzlies came into this game as one of the hottest teams in the Association having gone 8-2 in their previous 10 games, yet they looked utterly outclassed by the play-in candidate Chicago Bulls in the second half.

The Chicago Bulls have proven they can beat anyone in the league this season.

If the Bulls can find a way to be consistent and make the 2023 NBA Playoffs, they will present real problems to the team they draw in the first round.

It was impossible to ignore the positives on Sunday, as they were plentiful. Coby White continued to play the best basketball of his career. Zach LaVine dropped a smooth 39 points to go along with 9 assists while DeMar DeRozan posted 31 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds against the second-ranked team in the NBA in defensive rating. The Bulls were a menace on the defensive end by forcing 18 turnovers. It was a tremendous all-around performance.

While the Chicago Bulls showcased just how dangerous they can be when they’re clicking, Bulls Nation knows all too well that we cannot expect this every game quite yet. Unfortunately, they’ve also proven that they can lose to anyone as well. They are as unpredictable of a Bulls squad as I’ve ever witnessed.

Now that they’ve locked in an appearance in the play-in tournament, the Chicago Bulls need to buckle down and find a way to perform this way on a regular basis. They have potential that is rarely seen for a team fighting to finish at .500. The top teams of the Eastern Conference have to be terrified at the thought of facing a team like them in the first round. Let’s see what happens next, Bulls Nation.
