Bears: 3 Justin Fields for Lamar Jackson trade packages
The Chicago Bears selected Justin Fields in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He fell a little bit after a few tremendous seasons at Ohio State where he had so much success. Now, he is trying to grow his game at the National Football League level.
The Bears didn’t use him right in Matt Nagy’s final year with the team and then took the leash off a little bit at times in 2022. He made some big plays with his legs but nobody is convinced that he is going to be able to make his throws at this level with regularity.
He has a lot of potential but anyone who thinks they know for a fact he is great right now is lying. As a result, they need to keep their evaluations going.
They are certainly not going to move him any time soon but it is fun to think about what a trade might look like if they sent him to the Baltimore Ravens for Lamar Jackson. Of course, the former MVP-winning quarterback requested a trade out of Baltimore due to contract issues.
The Chicago Bears landing Lamar Jackson would shake the entire NFL.
Chicago would have to pay him but they still have the most cap space in the league and no elite quarterback in franchise history.
There are concerns about Lamar’s health and the fact that he runs too much but those are the same issues with Fields. Getting on Lamar for that while believing in Fields is very hypocritical.
Still, it is highly unlikely that the Bears would do something like this even though everything should be on the table in theory. Again, it would never happen but it is fun to think about what it would look like if it did:
