The Chicago Blackhawks went from having a terrible prospect pool to a very good one in a matter of 18 months. One player who helped them turn it around is Frank Nazar who they selected in the first round of the 2022 NHL Draft. He was one of three first-round selections they made.

Nazar is currently playing at The University of Michigan where he had a very successful year once he returned from his injury. In 12 games (as a freshman), he has two goals and five assists for 7 points. He is a forward that is still trying to get his game developed.

He has a long way to go but he is on the right track now that he is healthy. Playing with Michigan has helped him a lot. There are studs on that team like Luke Hughes, Adam Fantilli, and Mackie Samoskevich amongst others that make it fun to play there.

Of course, they made it to the NCAA Tournament and they had a very big weekend. They started with a dominant 11-1 win over Colgate on Friday night. Then, they advanced to the Frozen Four on Sunday with an overtime win over Penn State. It has been an amazing tournament for them.

So Nazar and the crew are going to be moving on to Tampa Bay where they will take on Quinnipiac who advanced off a big win over Ohio State. Boston University and Minnesota are in the other Frozen Four match. The two victors will play in the National Championship.

The Chicago Blackhawks have to be very happy with Frank Nazar right now.

This is a great opportunity for Nazar to learn some valuable big-game experience. This team will be good again next year but they will lose Luke Hughes to the New Jersey Devils and Adam Fantilli will go to whichever team selects second overall in 2023 (which very well could be Chicago).

College hockey isn’t as popular as college football or basketball but it should be. These games have all been amazing and Blackhawks fans have an extra special reason to watch knowing Frank Nazar is there.

He should be a great player for them one day soon. Advancing this far in the tournament will certainly be good for him in multiple different ways. We can only hope that he makes a big play to help them reach the final horn on top.

The Chicago Blackhawks also have two other players that advanced. Ryan Greene (C) and Drew Commesso (G) both play for Boston University. Seeing all of the talent that the Blackhawks have make an impact is a sign of good things to come.
