Chicago Bears players who could be replaced in the 2023 NFL Draft: Kindle Vildor, CB

Going into the 2022 season, most fans were fairly uneasy about Kindle Vildor manning the starting role opposite Jaylon Johnson. After all, he hadn’t shown much of anything in his first two seasons. But, in his third year, Vildor definitely made a leap.

He played much better than anyone expected, and quite frankly, wasn’t a liability. He played fine. But, is fine good enough for Poles as he’s turning over this roster?

At number 9 overall, the Bears very well could have their pick of Christian Gonzalez or Joey Porter Jr. Should they opt to draft either one of them, then Vildor is relegated to the bench. That’s an easy call.

Where it might get murky is if the Bears draft a cornerback later on. At that point, then it’ll be all about competition throughout the summer months and training camp. While Vildor is definitely worth rostering and could be a fantastic reserve, the Bears would probably like to upgrade his starting position in the draft.
