Chicago Bears players who could be replaced in the 2023 NFL Draft: Trestan Ebner, RB

As it stands, it appears the Bears are going to roll with D’Onta Foreman and Khalil Herbert as their top two backs. In what order, though, remains to be seen. Herbert will likely still be their starter, with Foreman mixed in heavily.

Chicago also signed former Seattle Seahawks running back Travis Homer to come in and be more of a special teams ace and, at times, likely a third down running back. But, Homer won’t carry a ton of offensive value. He’s best served on special teams.

That leaves last year’s rookie sixth-round pick Trestan Ebner as the team’s fourth running back. It’s not uncommon for teams to carry four backs, especially if one or two contribute on special teams. But, Ebner could very well be on his way out after just one season.

He was worth a dart throw, but wasn’t as impressive as he could have been as a rookie. If the Bears have an opportunity to draft a good value in this year’s draft, at running back, then Ebner could be gone in a hurry.
