2. Nick Madrigal

Nick Madrigal is someone that the Chicago Cubs could absolutely move.

If the Cubs wanted to keep Morel based on his potential in this league, then Nick Madrigal really would have no long-term place on this team.

It looked for a minute like the Chicago Cubs fleeced the Chicago White Sox in this trade and you can still claim they won it but it isn’t as franchise-defining as we thought. Nick Madrigal really hasn’t been that good for them and Codi Heuer has been hurt the whole time.

Now, with Nico Hoerner moving to second base as a result of the Dansby Swanson signing, if they don’t want to use him at third base, there is no room for Madrigal as an everyday starter.

There is still debate as to whether or not he would be one anyway but he won’t find out on this Chicago Cubs squad. they should be trying to move him as fast as they can.
