In the fifth round, the Bears add to their defensive line and get themselves a phenomenal value in Texas’ Keondre Coburn. This is the perfect pick for a Bears defense that will love to work in several players across their line over the course of a game.

Coburn is a big man, standing 6-foot-2 and weighing a massive 332 pounds. But, don’t let his size fool you. Coburn is an athletic defensive lineman for his size, giving him some sneaky ability to catch linemen off guard.

Also coming with plenty of experience, Coburn started 45 games with the Longhorns during his time in college.

Where the Bears could really use him is on third down, when they especially need pass rushers on the interior. Again, despite his size, Coburn can get through and rush the passer at an elite level. His foot speed is impressive for a man standing at his size, and that’s what allows him to work quickly to get past linemen. However, he can also bull rush with the best of them due to his strength.

Coburn is a welcomed addition to this defensive line and will be used intelligently in certain packages.
