The Chicago Cubs lost a few players that they won’t miss very much.

1: Frank Schwindel

The Chicago Cubs should have traded Frank Schwindel after the 2021 season was over. Some team would have given them something for him. A contender would have given up a medium prospect in hopes that he can fill an offensive void in their lineup.

Instead, the Cubs tried to keep the magic going for another year in 2022 but it didn’t work out. Now, he is not with the team anymore and they really won’t miss him. It was fun while it lasted but it was obvious that it was not sustainable.

2. Jason Heyward

Jason Heyward is not even close to being one of the best players in franchise history but he is close to being one of the most important. He gets a lot of credit for rallying the troops when they were down during the rain delay of game seven in the 2016 World Series.

They ended up winning and he was a hero for his speech. He was a good player for them but got to be pretty unhelpful by the end of 2022. Now that he is gone, they won’t miss him in terms of what he was bringing on the field.

3. Wade Miley

Coming into last year, it felt like Wade Miley fell into the laps of the Chicago Cubs because he did. He’s a good pitcher that everyone would want but he was hurt for most of the 2022 season.

At his age and coming off this injury, it is obvious that the Cubs won’t miss him too much in 2023. They got other pitchers that they would like to see this year instead.
