EDGE. Northwestern. Adetomiwa Adebawore. 2. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 882

With their second pick in the second round, the Bears stay in the trenches but go back to defense. Still in need of another edge rusher to pair with Dominique Robinson, Travis Gipson and Walker, Chicago adds a prime prospect who doesn’t have to travel far.

Northwestern’s Adetomiwa Adebawore gives the Bears a great four-man rotation off the edge and he has the chance to be their premier pass rusher of the future. One question, though, before cementing him off the edge is whether or not he might fit better on the inside. He’s only 6-foot-2 and around 280 pounds. If Adebawore wanted to, he could put on just a little weight and be a highly effective interior lineman.

Regardless, this is a pick which puts the Bears’ defensive line in a much better position going forward, and gives them longevity at a position.

Syracuse. Garrett Williams. Pick Analysis. player. 827. Scouting Report. CB. 3

With their first pick in the third round, the Bears go secondary with a player we have mocked to them several times already this year. Syracuse cornerback Garrett Williams is one of those guys who can line up and stay with just about any type of receiver on the outside.

The Bears are getting a smart corner who will allow Kyler Gordon to stay in the slot if the Bears figure that as a better spot for him, and Williams undoubtedly fits best on the outside.

Now, Chicago has a pair of solidified starting corners in Williams and Jaylon Johnson, with Kindle Vildor offering a stout backup off the bench.
