Bears News: The Aaron Rodgers nightmare is finally over
The Chicago Bears have been one of the most overrated franchises in the NFL during their history. They are one of the original teams which is awesome but they have only had a handful of successful years in terms of on-the-field play in the last 40 years.
Part of the reason that they have been subpar is the team just to the north, the Green Bay Packers. The Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings have mostly been mediocre or bad too so Green Bay has just run away with the division for most of the past few decades.
They went from Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre to future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers and it has been a nightmare. Now, that nightmare might finally be over. Aaron Rodgers is no longer going to play for the Green Bay Packers.
After all of the regular season winning that he has done there, it is time for him to go play somewhere else and that is magnificent news for the Bears. The other two NFC North teams are probably pretty happy about it as well.
The Aaron Rodgers nightmare is over for Chicago Bears fans starting now.
Rodgers has made it known that his intention is to play for the New York Jets which means that the Chicago Bears will rarely have to ever face him again.
He announced that on The Pat McAfee Show during Wednesday’s show. It is obviously news that is going to send shockwaves across the league.
The deal is not done yet but you can expect it to get done in the coming days. Aaron Rodgers is going to play for the New York Jets.
It is a shame that the Bears were never able to just win in the playoffs during Rodgers’ Packers tenure because that would have been more fun but this is okay too.
The Jets were a really talented roster in 2022 but they didn’t get the quarterback play needed to take advantage of it. It was obvious that this was something that they were going to address during the off-season.
Now, they have one of the game’s greatest ready to slot onto that extremely good team. This could either end up like Matthew Stafford on the Los Angeles Rams or Russell Wilson on the Denver Broncos. Either way, it will end up with the Bears not having to play him twice.
