As NFL free agency officially kicks off today with players allowed to verbally agree to terms, the fun begins for the Chicago Bears and their fan base.

General manager Ryan Poles has spent the past year working toward this moment, and now it has finally arrived. He has amassed $75 million in cap space for the Bears to spend, after the DJ Moore trade, and they’ll aim to fill some big-time holes within the roster.

The free agent pool is fairly deep this year, at multiple positions, which is fortunate for the Bears.

So, just which players would be dream signings for this Bears team? There are a few, some big names, some simply great fits. Let’s kick it off with one of those strong fits in the secondary.

Dream targets for the Chicago Bears in free agency: Rock Ya-Sin, CB

The first position we’ll target is at cornerback, where the Bears currently have Jaylon Johnson on the outside and Kyler Gordon looking more and more like a stronger fit in the slot. That means an upgrade on the outside could be in the works, or the Bears would roll into next year with Kindle Vildor or a rookie.

Rock Ya-Sin has familiarity with Matt Eberflus from their time together in Indianapolis, so that’s an easy connection to make right off the bat. He also enjoyed his strongest year as a pro back in 2021 under Eberflus, where he was given a coverage grade of 72.4 by Pro Football Focus.

Last year with the Raiders, Ya-Sin held opposing quarterbacks to a career-low quarterback rating of 82.6 and allowed a 60.9 percent completion percentage.

On what will hopefully be an improved defense in Chicago, Ya-Sin fits well on the outside and allows Gordon to stay inside where he can excel.
