Marvin Mims, Oklahoma

Mims does a good job beating his defenders down the field for big plays. He’s another true slot receiver, as he’s listed at 5’11 and weighs 177 pounds. In 2022, he put up 1,083 receiving yards along with 6 touchdowns. In two of those games he had over 160 yards. He’s very quick and can do damage after the catch. Mims also does a great job maintaining control and making difficult catches. He adds value on special teams, as he returned both kicks and punts for Oklahoma.

Mims tested well at the combine. He showed off his speed with a 4.37 40-yard dash with a 1.55 10-yard split. He added a 6.90 3-cone drill which ended up being the fourth best in the class. Mims also tied for fourth in the vertical jump with a 39.50.’’

The Bears could add another deep threat alongside Mooney. I think he would fit perfectly with the Bears wide receiver group. Mims has potential to be a reliable slot receiver for years to come. He will likely go in the middle to late second round. Right in the Bears’ range. If Ryan Poles wants a quick and smaller receiver, Mims is his guy.
