Chicago Bears Draft: 7 Day Two options at wide receiver
Kayshon Boutte, LSU
Boutte has phenomenal speed and is exceptional after the catch. In 6 games during his sophomore year, he put up 509 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns before a leg injury ended his season. His play-making ability is what makes him stand out. He can turn a 5-yard catch into a 50-yard gain. If he can improve on making contested catches, Boutte could be a diamond in the rough.
At the combine, Boutte ran a 4.50 40-yard dash with a 1.58 10-yard split. He placed fifth in the shuttle run with a time of 4.25 seconds. His vertical wasn’t the best, as he finished last with a 29.00.’’ That’s something Boutte can improve on to help him go up and make some difficult plays deep down the field.
LSU has a history of producing great receivers, and Boutte could be the next one. With his speed, Boutte will be flexible when it comes to lining up outside or in the slot. He will likely be in the Bears range at pick 56, and 64. Another explosive player out of this wide receiver class. If Poles likes him, he should have the opportunity to take him come April.
