Nathaniel Dell, Houston

Dell was a touchdown machine in 2022 for the Houston Cougars, putting up 17 touchdowns along with 1,398 receiving yards. He’s a true slot receiver. Good speed can beat you down the field and is shifty after the catch. Dell also offers value on special teams as a punt returner.

Six out of his 13 games in 2022, Dell had over 100 receiving yards. He put over 160 yards three times last year. His best game came against SMU where he caught a touchdown and racked up 180 receiving yards.

Size is definitely a concern with Dell, He’s only 5’10, 165 pounds. At the combine, his best 40-yard dash time was 4.49. With his main component being speed, you’d expect that time to be a little higher. However, his 10-yard split was one of the best of the group with 1.49. His film speaks for itself. At Houston he was a playmaker that you can rely on.

I think it’s likely Dell will be available when the Bears are on the clock in the late second and early third. He can be a true slot guy for the Bears offense and add even more explosiveness alongside Darnell Mooney.
