Chicago Bears Mock Draft: DJ Moore trade makes things interesting
By Ryan Heckman
The Bears’ linebacking group is going to look different in 2023, as both Nicholas Morrow and Matthew Adams are free agents. It appears as though last year’s undrafted gem Jack Sanborn could be the only returning starter across those three spots, and if that’s the case, the Bears are going to have to use free agency and the draft to fill two starting roles.
In the fourth round, Chicago takes a shot on Tulane linebacker Dorian Williams who could potentially come in and take one of those starting positions.
Though he is a little undersized at 6-foot-1 and 228 pounds, Williams is a twitchy athlete who ran a 4.49 in his 40-yard dash at the Combine. He is the type of linebacker that’s everywhere, and truly flocks to the football.
Like the aforementioned Ojomo, Williams has a hard time switching his play “off.” He is always going and does not lack speed, that’s for sure.
Last year, he had a whopping 132 tackles in 14 games, including 8.5 for a loss and 5.0 sacks. He also added seven passes defensed and a pair of interceptions. That type of productivity is hard to pass up, regardless of where he played his college ball.
