Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. C. Ohio State. Luke Wypler. 2. player. 812

Sticking with the offensive line, the Bears get fortunate enough to land yet another starter here in the second round with Ohio State center Luke Wypler.

Fans are well-accustomed to watching Sam Mustipher get blown off the line in pass protection and wind up looking around for work as his man makes his way towards the quarterback. Enough is enough, as the Bears find his replacement here in Wypler.

Wypler stands 6-foot-3, weighing in at 303 pounds. He is a smart player and communicates well, according to scouts and experts. He is best suited in zone rushing attacks, which is what the Bears like to run. Wypler can get to the second level in a hurry and uses his athleticism well to get up there quickly.

If he is asked to execute a simple A-gap block, he does it fast. His get-up off the line and after the snap is very quick, which he’ll need in the pros with much faster, stronger nose tackles he’s going to be facing.

Now, the Bears have three surefire starters locked down across their offensive line, plus whatever they did in free agency. Wypler might have just rounded out the starting line.
