The Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears make perfect sense for this deal.

The Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers seem like one of the natural fits for this trade involving the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Panthers feel like they desperately need a quarterback and this could be the best way for them to build around one.

The Bears would be moving all the way down to nine in this deal so they might ask for a little bit more. Getting the 2023 second-round pick in addition to two future firsts would be a great return for the Bears. If the Carolina Panthers believe that their quarterback is in this draft, they just might consider it.

It is risky to trade two future first-round picks to get this first overall selection but desperate teams take desperate measures sometimes. Sometimes, the risk is worth the reward if you end up with the player that can play the position for you for decades.

Again, moving down to nine is less than ideal but if it adds to the surplus of picks that you receive, it could be well worth it in the end. The Bears need to be smart and adding lots of high-end picks in the coming years would be the definition of smart.
