Chicago Bears Rumors: Updated trade returns for first overall pick
By Ryan Heckman
Trade Number 4
If the Texans really want this pick, they’ll have to understand that Colts general manager Chris Ballard has made it very clear he is going to do whatever he possibly can to leapfrog their division rival.
Houston would be the juiciest possible trade partner, too, because of the fact that they could help the Bears immediately, and drastically.
This might seem like an absolute haul for the Bears, just for the Texans to move up one spot. But, again, there has already been a ton of interest in the pick and clearly, the Texans are going to have plenty of competition to secure that pick.
For the Bears, this would mean that they get to draft Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson at no. 2, and could potentially have their alpha wide receiver drafted at pick no. 12 overall. Think of the possibility of Chicago being able to draft Anderson, followed by TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnston.
In addition to those two picks, the Bears get two picks in next year’s draft; a first and second rounder. If Justin Fields continues down the path he’s on and develops, the Bears could be a scary organization come 2024.
