The Chicago Bears were the worst team in the NFL during the 2022-23 season. Now, they have the number one overall pick and are looking to create some chaos with it. They also have the weapon of the most cap space in the league.

They are one of the only teams in the top ten of the draft not actively looking for a new quarterback. We don’t know for sure if Justin Fields is the long-term answer but we do know that he is going to be given the opportunity to be just that.

In order for him to develop a little bit more, they might want to look into protecting him more. That would come with adding more weapons for him to throw too which is more exciting but they also need to give him a good offensive line. That is hard to do but it can be done.

On Monday, we learned that the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are not giving a franchise tag to OT Orlando Brown. That is now a huge free agent on the market that can help any team improve their offense up front. The Bears need a player like that badly.

Last season, they couldn’t work out a deal and they ended up using their tag on him then. They won’t do that this time around. Now, they have until 3/13 to get a deal done otherwise he is free to start looking at deals with other teams in the league.

The Chicago Bears could really use a player like Orlando Brown right now.

If for whatever reason, Brown no longer wants to be protecting Patrick Mahomes, he would be a great fit for the Chicago Bears. Justin Fields could really use an offensive tackle like that as he is as good as anyone at protecting the quarterback.

When the Chiefs landed him from the Baltimore Ravens going into the 2021 season, you know he would be amazing on a team like that. Since coming out of Oklahoma in the 2018 NFL Draft, he has been one of the best at his position in the league.

Brown was a Pro Bowl selection in every year except for his rookie year. Now, he will be highly coveted going into his age 27 season and coming off a Super Bowl win.

Obviously, coming to a team like the Bears would be an entirely different challenge. He’d be there to help them grow more than help them win. At least, that’s how it would be at first. As they get better in the next few years, however, he’d big a big piece of what they hope becomes a great team.
