With it being NFL Combine time, it is the perfect moment for a Chicago Bears mock draft.

Chicago owns the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, of course, and the anticipation is high in regards to what they’ll do with that selection.

General manager Ryan Poles has already received plenty of interest in the team’s pick, as reported by Ian Rapoport from the Combine this week. With multiple teams having interest, where do the Bears find their biggest draft haul?

The Chicago Bears trade their first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Atlanta Falcons in this mock draft

The Falcons just announced the release of veteran Marcus Mariota, leaving only Desmond Ridder as their viable quarterback option. With that, Bryce Young is looking pretty good.

After the Bears secured the no. 8 pick, they opt to draft TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnston.

Pick Analysis. WR. player. 872. Scouting Report. TCU. Quentin Johnston. 1

At no. 8 overall, the Bears get their prototypical alpha wide receiver in TCU’s Quentin Johnston. With a 6-foot-4, 212-pound frame, Johnston has every bit of size you could desire from a true number one.

Last year with the Horned Frogs, Johnston caught 60 passes for 1,069 yards and six scores.

As maybe the best receiver in the draft class, Johnston’s combination of size, speed and overall athleticism is unmatched. He possesses everything you would like to have in your traditional X receiver.

Not only is he quick with a great release, but Johnston is strong enough where tackling him is a problem. He gives a Justin Fields the type of receiver the Bears have needed for their young quarterback, and from here, the Bears continue stacking talent.
